I am absolutely love love loving these Tina Kalivas dresses. They make me want to tie my hair up in a ‘Croydon facelift’ ponytail and paint my eyebrows on super thick like the PPQ Spring/Summer 08’ girls (and yes I’m completely ignoring Peaches Geldof’s appearance). The Australian based designer trained in London for 8 years working under Alexander McQueen as a seamstress and Creative Pattern Cutter. She also studied period underwear and corsetry at the London College of Fashion and designed costumes for the film industry (most notably ball gowns for James Bond ‘Die Another Day’). Relocating to Australia in 2002 to launch her own label, Kalivas’ young, edgy designs have placed her at the forefront of the Australian fashion scene. The multicoloured dress is £305 and the turquoise dress is £310.

Avoid looking like Jordan on her wedding day with these crowns from Jean Paul Gaultier’s regally inspired Fall 2007 Couture Collection. They are availible in padded, diamond and human hair versions (gross). I must say this would be a step up from my collection of crappy plastic tiaras. I love the one that’s perched on Lily Cole’s pumpkin head. God Save the Queen!

It's time for another fashion icon of mine, Daphne Guinness. Being a fashion stylist, journalist and film producer with a £20m fortune under her belt lets face it there’s no reason why she shouldn’t look good, but Guinness has a style completely of her own. I have always admired women who dress with that kind of lavish excess associated with quintessential British eccentricity. Her black and white striped hair and pillar-box red pout means you can't help but take notice, but it takes commitment and a whole lot of cold hard cash to look this good (especially after three children), but luckily for Daphne she’s got it in abundance. Growing up in an artist’s colony in Barcelona hanging out with Salvador Dali as a child and Kate Moss and Mario Testino as an adult one can’t help but pick up a pointer or two about style. She is famously one of the few women who still buy couture “I still buy couture, but very little and very carefully, because it’s so expensive.” Dammit, it’s not fair! I only want a little couture in my wardrobe just a taste!

Oh how I miss The Face magazine. It was a monthly slice of perfection, cutting edge fashion, music and the coolest celebrities, designers and artists around. My love affair with the magazine started a little late in around 2001 which meant I didn’t have much time to soak up its brilliance before it ceased to exist in May 2004, almost makes me wish I was born a little earlier...almost. They didn’t even have enough money for the final farewell issue; I must say I felt a little left in the lurch. The Face introduced us to a topless teenage Kate Moss, Christina Aguilera’s bare bum and Giselle spread eagled, covered in baby oil and a transparent trench coat. The racy covers and annual Sex Issue created much embarrassment when paying in the newsagent but it was so worth it. I loved the bitchy comments in the Fashion No, Fashion Yes pages, the editorials were inspiring and the quality of the writing meant every page was enjoyed. There is no worthy substitute out there, Nylon and i:D are ok but they will never fill the void on the newsstand left by The Face. Now excuse me while I scour eBay to bulk up my stash.

Bianca Jagger has always inspired me sartorially, from that infamous wedding outfit to the Studio 54 disco look she is one of my personal fashion icons. To this day I am still looking for the perfect white suit and black wide collared shirt (nobody mention Saturday Night Fever). When she became part of one of the sexiest couples in music history she cemented her place on the fashion map. In her youth she was effortlessly cool and let’s face it she was screwing Mick Jagger in his prime, life doesn’t get much better. Now a passionate humanitarian she still finds the time to be chic, I doff my hat to you Bianca. You can keep your Kate Moss and Pete Doherty because the Jagger's will always be my favourite rock n’ roll couple.
